Meeting 7-19-2018

President Lisa Berman presenting Terese Beauchamp, with her past president Blue Badge and pin Jeanette Bell is giving a report of upcoming social activities for the club. John Scherer gave a program of his 30 years serving as a pilot, staff officer,and commander in the US Air Force. John is a member of the Delavan-Darien Rotary Club. He is presently serving as the Youth Protection Officer for District 6270. He shared several stories of his years in the service of the Air Force. He has a son who recently graduated from the Navy Academy in Annapolis. One of his stories he was relating was the 16.8 hours of flight from San Diego to Japan transporting President's Regan's car and his secret service to Japan for a visit. He still flys today with a plane that his twin brother owns. His brother was a Navy surgeon. John retired as a Colonel and is presently manager for the Alder Group which distributes milk products for Dean Foods throughout the Midwest.
